Tofu. It's not a good thing. Trust me, I've tried it.

Of course, the smart thing for me to do would have been to start tofu in small portions. Forget that! Hindsight is always 20/20 isn't it? Nope, I had to go into it in a big bad way. Decided to go to my favorite hole in the wall Thai place. I ordered my favorite dish, Krathiam, with tofu rather than beef. All was good and right in the world, or so I thought. I was afraid when they set the plate down in front of me...serious, the music from Psycho was playing out in my head. The chunks were huge...they were ginormous and when I tried to cut them with my fork into more manageable pieces, ewwww...they were soft! What the hell? Ugh! The parts of the tofu that were covered with sauce and garlic were alright but those that didn't get the full coating...yeah, not so much!

I think I have been irreparably harmed and hope that someday soon I can venture into the land of eating "tofu right from the container with a little salt and pepper." All I can say to that is, "Show off!" :)
